My Mission as it relates to the Musical Saw.
(Also, a little bit of my personal philosophy)
Simply stated, my mission as it relates to the musical is as follows:
I believe that everyone has a "Destiny", a reason they are here. I believe there are three keys to discovering what our individual destiny might be: (A) Look to your talents. Do the things that you are good at. (B) Look to your joy. Do the things that make you happy. (C) Make a contribution . Make sure that whatever you do provides a benefit to other people, as well as to yourself. With these three things in mind, I have resolved to do the following things:
(1) My primary objective in playing the musical saw is to entertain you. The musical saw is a unique instrument. Most people have never seen or heard anyone play the musical saw and it gives me great pleasure to see the expression om people’s faces when they hear the saw being played.
(2) To provide inspiration. At this age, almost everyone has something going on with regard to their health. I have Parkinson’s. Parkinson’s is the result of a dopamine deficiency in the brain. Dopamine is the “Reward“ that our brain gives us for completing a project, or making people smile. If you are facing personal challenges in your life, I recommend that you go in search of your destiny by doing the things you are good at and that make you happy in a way that includes benefitting others, as well as yourself.
(3) To raise awareness, and generate donations to my three favorite charities. The Assistance Fund, (TAF), Ronald McDonald House of Greater Washington DC (RMHC), and The Archie Edwards Blues Heritage Foundation. (AEBHF). I have given some information on these charities on the Donate page. If you click on their links for each charity, you will find additional information with regard to their mission and purpose.

My Basic Philosophy
I believe the highest and best use of our time, energy and talents is to work on being the best possible version of ourselves. When we presnt the best version of ourselves to others, They become inspired and follow our example. This is true of adults as well as children. If everyone we meet is inspired to become the best possible version of themselves, they ,in turn inspire others and the results multiply exponentially. It is entirely possible that if each of us devotes all of our energy to becoming the best possible version of ourselves, we can bring about a positive change in the lives of huge numbers of people. It all starts by making one decision, and then following through with all of your energy.
I also believe that we have free will, but that we are limited to one major choice. That is either to accept our destiny and go peacefully, or resist our destiny and go through life kicking and screaming. I believe that we end up in the same place either way. The path of acceptance is easier than choosing to resist. In my opinion, we don't have any control over how life presents itself to us. The only control we have is how we respond. But these are all just my opinions. I could be completely wrong about everything.
